Canine Companions for Independence -  Rocky Mountain Chapter, located in Denver, Colorado, is leading the service dog industry so our clients and their dogs can live with greater independence. We provide service dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities and facility dogs to professionals working in healthcare, criminal justice and educational settings. Since our founding in 1975, our dogs and all follow-up services are provided at no cost to our clients.  There is also a Canine Companions Chapter located in Vail Valley

Paragon Service Dogs (previously known as International Hearing Dog, Inc., IHDI), is an Assistance Dogs International member) and is headquartered in Longmont, Colorado.

The mission is to empower individuals with disabilities through the purposeful training of specially selected pups, the meticulous pairing of dog and handler, and  support of the dog/handler team for the lifetime of the match.


Focus:
  • Raising, training, matching, placing, and supporting hearing service dogs
  • Training programs that are tailored to best match each dog's strengths and characteristics, and ensuring that they are equipped to meet the unique demands of assisting individuals with hearing impairments.
  • Diversifying the populations served under Paragon Service Dogs, laying a more robust foundation for the organization's sustainability, anticipating the development of more varied and engaged communities of volunteers and supporters.​
