Hearing Assistive Technology (HAT)

​Hearing Aids are Not Enough.  HAT includes
  • assistive listening systems (such as FM, hearing loop systems, and infrared),
  • telecommunications products and services (such as captioned telephones and relay services) and
  • alerting devices (such as alarm clocks, smoke-detectors, etc. that use loud audio alerts, vibrating receivers and/or flashing lights)

  • Large-Area Assistive Listening Systems
  • Assistive Listening Devices for the Phone
  • Alert Systems for People with Hearing Loss
  • Captions for People with Hearing Loss
  • Assistive Listening Solutions or Work


The Communications Technology Program (CTP) at the Colorado Division for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf/Blind provides communications resources and tools, such as amplified and captioned phones, smartphones and tablets, as well as ring signalers and neck loops or head sets and specialized equipment at no charge to qualified deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind. This technology gives a person access to family and the community at large.
