In early March of 2006, Self Help for Hard of Hearing People has officially changed its name to Hearing Loss Association of America.
Hearing Loss Association of America (previously known as Self Help for Hard of Hearing People-SHHH) is the nations largest organization for people with hearing loss. SHHH exists to open the world of communication for people with hearing loss through information, education, advocacy and support.
In Colorado, there are several local chapters. The state chapter coordinator is Debbie Mohney , she can be reached through the contact listed at the bottom of the page.
The different chapters are listed on the Colorado Chapters page. There are chapters in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and Fort Collins.
The Colorado State Government has created the Colorado Commision for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. They meet quarterly, and the link is www.cdhs.state.co.us/DeafCommission
